Difference between Psychology and Psychiatry

Psychologists are trained to help you with your mental health issues by behavioural modifications and giving insights to your behaviour, by listening and talking about your issues. They don’t prescribe medicine.

  • Industrial Organisational Psychology
  • Clinical Psychology
  • Cross-Cultural Psychology
  • Forensic Psychology

Psychiatrist are Medical Doctors who diagnose Mental Health conditions and prescribe medicines along with counseling.

  • Addiction Psychiatry
  • Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Forensic Psychiatry
  • Liaison Psychiatry
  • Geriatric Psychiatry

Whom would you consult ?

If either one of them, Psychologist or Psychiatrist is available depending on your convenience, then you must go and consult and they would guide you accordingly depending on your present condition.
